The voting process in American elections is, oftentimes by design, convoluted and overly complex. By enacting legislation that increases barriers to the ballot box, political parties have been actively making it more difficult for certain groups, namely minorities, to vote. OneVote is an app designed to help simplify and streamline the voting process by addressing key concerns raised from user research.
A core feature of the app is an interactive sample ballot, which lets users see and learn more about the full list of candidates and proposed amendments ahead of time, so that they are able to make more informed decisions at the voting booth. Other features include a simplified to-do list of important steps necessary to vote, key dates and reminders, and resources to find answers to frequently asked questions.
